Mary Lena Taylor is an interdisciplinary artist from New Canaan, Connecticut. She graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree concentrated in Studio Art and History, and currently lives and works in her studio located in Charleston, South Carolina. Her practice is informed by her response to the ongoing metamorphosis and mayhem that surrounds her in both the manmade and natural world. This is reflected in the placement of the different marks, layers, and choices of color in her work. She utilizes different collaging and monoprinting techniques, often deconstructing objects into new pieces entirely.
